    enlarging

How do you copy an applique pattern from a book accurately and enlarge it? I copied on my regular home copier and the pattern came out smaller than the actual one. Then I realized it had to be enlarged 200%.

Is your copier also a scanner? You can scan it and import it into a graphics program (Paint Shop Pro, Adobe, something like that) and change the image size. There is a thread here under Misc. Tools that talks about enlarging patterns in Excel. If you don't have a way to scan it, you can take it to a print shop like Kinkos and they can do it for you.

Thanks for the suggestions. My husband discovered after much trial and error that the little Copy a Second shop in our little town did it quickly and inexpensively. They did a terrific job and it took no effort on my part. He went to Staples and they said their machine was down and they were backlogged. It would take several days. I don't have several days. My retreat is this Friday. So now, I have the patterns traced on template plastic and I'll get the applique pieces ready tomorrow when a friend comes over.
