    DynaFlow Fabric Dye Question

I was experimenting with Dynaflow Fabric dyes this weekend and really liked them they went easily, had vibrant colors and were relatively inexpensive. BUT after I ironed them (for about three minutes per the instructions) The colors still ran and faded. I tried a hotter Iron setting and ironing longer but they still faded and the colors were not as vibrant. Does anyone out there have a special trick to make this dye (a paint really) set more permenently? I would love to hear from anyone with any ideas.

You could try something as simple as salt. That sets the dye for some reason I don't understand.

Jaquard sells a product called dye-set that can be used but I don't know if it would work with dynaflo.

There is always steam-setting but that is a whole nother kettle of fish.

Have you tried contacting the makers of this product to ask them?

The instructions say to let the product dry before heat setting. I find the "waiting" part of all processes to the the most difficult. Instructions also suggest 30 minutes in the dryer on high heat. Try washing the fabric before painting. There may be some product that does not allow the paint to adhere. Hope you find an answer.
