I want to create a quilt from a photo! It is a photo of my Dad's Black Lab. Her name is Ogee. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to start? If you know of a show that TQS did, where this was covered? I have found a couple of patterns, BUT, they just don't look like Ogee ! I did a quilt from Sharon Malec of my golden retriever and it came out great! She doesn't have a pattern for a black lab. I have some of the skills, but not the skills or knowledge to create my own pattern from my own photo! Thank you! -
Susan Carlson was on show 801 and demonstrated using pieces of fabric and gluing them to create pictures. Her technique turns out remarkable pieces. Check her show out.

Try Rob Appell's class on portrait quilts and follow the same principles for a dog. It's worked for me.
