sewing with tiny bits of fabric

I think there was a show at one time where the quilt artist used a rotary cutter and cut fabric into tiny bits then sewed them on using free motion stitching. I can't remember where it was I saw it or how to find it. Does anyone else remember this? Did the artist use netting or tuille to hold the pieces down before stitching?? Thanks for any help or direction.

I'd like to see the show. I tried it recently with netting and failed it was too ugly so I used bondaweb then sliced and put on with tweezers.

You might mean the show where the artist made a Santorini like city. It's so annoying because at the moment I can't find the show. Maybe someone else can remember the artists name

No, you're thinking of Noriko Endo.

I keyed in on "Santorini" in Norma's post... sorry! Noriko Endo is one who uses the tulle and tiny scraps technique. So does Susan Carlson (episode 801). Hope this helps a little better... ops:

Then there are the Laura Wasilowski shows, and I havn't found the one that I was looking for... I know it was a visit to someone's studio, and she showed us how to use up the smallest bits and pieces to make pictures... Portraits were shown in depth...
Gosh we've had so many fabulous shows... And I'm so lucky I have all but the last three seasons on DVD too... :P :P :P

Don't mention it, Norma. It just means I did not read Laura's posting as carefully as I should have... ops:

I seem to recall Sally Ducto in ep. 302 doing something like that.
