                        Your quilt is simly stunning and I cant help with any advice but I do hope it all works out for you in the end.

                          Wendy, if you can find a hoop that will fit under your pressure foot(take the foot off, put the hoop under, then put foot back on)--hoop the face area with the inside of the hoop on top. This will put the fabric close to the bed of the machine. pull the fabric tight. You can then put some stitching on the face. I believe the puckers you see is that there is no quilting in this area. Follow the contours of the face with your quilting. You will not need much since you do not have dense quilting in the other areas. Hope this helps.

                            Sounds good advice Ritzy, I've not tried using a hoop for quilting before. Off to look for one it's probably with my lost printer

                                That is how I was introduced to free motion embroidery, it works a treat, especially if the whole design in inside the hoop. I've almost certainly got a spare if you need one. :wink: and it is not down the back of the sofa! - it is in safe place in my sewing room :P
