I want to make a beach scene and I believe the supply necessary is called expandaprint or expandapaint. You can heat it with a hair dryer and it expands and glues the shells to it. I'll try to google it again. I also need liquid beads for the waves. It was a Linda Schmidt idea written up in Quilting Arts a long time ago. Jan

I think it is expandaprint, and it looks like it's widely available - google!

Have you tried "puffy paint" products? I have them on my website for art quilters: http://www.stitchesnbrushstrokes.com
It has been great fun to play with the colors. We have yellow, white, blue, and green....
