Appliqué Border - Number of Large Leaves

    Hi Everyone,

Great to be back on the job this month, hope you are all going well.

Just a side note, I noticed when cutting the large leaves that there is a small discrepancy in the number of dark and light large leaves required... Should read 26 dark/light green and 14 green/light not 24 and 16 as per instructions. Still makes the same total of 40 large leaves though.

I found it helpful when marking where the vines should be placed on the border to run a Hera Marker along the tracing paper with the border fabric underneath. It makes a thin but clear line on the fabric, makes it easy to position the vines without having to flick the tracing paper back and forth. Also used Elmer's glue to stick the vines to fabric, works well. Well back to work now

      Hi Margo,

I used your idea of the pattern wheel (left over from my dart marking many years ago) to mark my vine and leaf placement just the way that Silveryquilter used the Hera marker. It left a faint line of dots just using the wheel alone and I just had to use tweezers to do a little tweaking now and then. Thanks for the suggestion in your video.

Should have mentioned that I am using the kit fabrics and the dots show up well on the dark border fabric. Probably not useful on light or patterned background fabric.

Another great idea WSEWS! Thanks for sharing! You can always use the dressmaker's carbon with the wheel in a color that will show up on your fabric if just pressure dots don't show up.
