Surely does make us appreciate all her hard work for needle-turn applique with NY Beauty corners!

That sure is a lot of appliquéd flowers in that zoom quilt! It is very delicate isn't it?

I am lovin' all the cats and quilts pictures. Currently I have only 2 cats, both princesses, and they firmly believe I cannot sew without their expert assistance.

The low-contrast quilt is stunning with its beautiful textures, colors, and quilting. Thank you for sharing that!!

I wanted to share my solution for getting an accurate layout of the applique pieces. I stitched my printout of the Template Patterns without thread to turn it into a stencil, positioned the vertical and horizontal axes along the fabric fold lines, and pounced chalk powder on the stencil. I flipped the stencil to get the right side as a mirror of the left. This worked really well for me, allowing me to glue the pieces into place in record time (for me!). I tried to take a photo for you but the white chalk doesn't show up very well, sorry.

What a cute cat Barb! And is that you in your profile photo? You must find it hard to do hand stitching with those paws. If you double click on the photo of your fabric the chalk shows up really well. That was a good idea.

Thanks, Rita. The cat in my profile is my heart-cat, Bert, who traveled to Rainbow Bridge December 2011. He loved anything that smelled like me.

I think we are a bunch of cat lovers. Cute cats and very nice projects.
Thanks again for all your kind comments. When I saw Mike's quilt on the Daily Blog I thought it was the S-block, but looking closer assured me it was something else. They have the same graphic look.

Great idea with the stencil for placement Barb! Thanks so much for sharing the idea and the photo!

I got month 4 finished. I might have stitched off a few of my New York Beauty tips but I can adjust those. I am delighted to have been able to complete this applique because it was really a struggle. I had such trouble with the fusible (I could only get bondaweb here) because it just wouldn't adhere properly despite my best efforts. I even looked up the manufacturers instructions to be sure I was doing it right. I think that it must have been old stock. In the end it was a glue pen and the double blanket stitch which helped me out and covered a multitude of loose threads. Just glad it's over and I still have 8 days before the next onslaught.

It is really beautiful, Rita. Don't you just hate it when stuff doesn't work like it's suppose too. It's always good to know how you manage to make do in those cases. Yeah, for the glue pen.

Way to go Rita! Looking awesome. Love the appliqué and all those red fabrics.

Rita, It is BEAUTIFUL! My offer still holds... If you think it's too spiky for you... send it my way!
Love the reds... Make me wonder what it would look like in white and blues...

                          Thanks for sharing!

Turning your pattern into a stencil for placement was such a great idea, Barb. Will definitely keep your idea in mind when I run into challenges placing my applique'.

Rita, I don't know if we have the equivalent of bondaweb here in the States, but would love to know so I can stay away from it! In the meantime, I have to tell you that I am loving the reds in your quilt and what I like even more is the piece you designed to replace the potted plant. It is gorgeous!

Andrée, I think whites and blues would look just as beautiful as reds. Are you considering making it in blue and white?

Renata, I've already begun mine in Yellows and blue, but maybe I'll make a wallhanging in white and blue.

Wow Rita, that is simply stunning! I would never have thought to change the center motif, but I love love your design and colors! Congratulations on getting Month 4 done with more than a week to spare.
