    Having trouble with BOM order

I have been unable to get a response by phone or email concerning my order for the 2013 BOM kit. Although my credit card was charged, I never received any kind of confirmation of the order and it's been over a week. Do you usually get a confirming message or email? Is it usually so hard to get through to someone about an order?

    Robin, please be patient.

Jeannie, who ships the orders, has been really sick with this nasty flu bug. Also, they have stopped shipping the kits until they figure out how much extra fabric needs to be included after discovering that the person who figured the yardage apparently did not allow for shrinkage when the fabric was prewashed as we were instructed to do!

Please be assured that your order will get to you as soon as possible, and accept sincere apologies for any inconvenience it may have caused.

Thanks, Margo! That answers my question. I hope Jeannie gets well soon. The flu is noooo fun.

I just "eked out" the sashings with the turquoise and orange from the kit. I will wait to see how much fabric is distributed to us kit purchasers; but I'm totally comfortable with substitution fabric for the border appliqué. Somehow I am pretty sure I have some turquoise and orange fabrics somewhere in my stash.

I am really glad that I am reading the Forum; finding out that I may or may not have enough of the fabric from my kit will save me from pulling out my hair and wondering what I did wrong if I do not have enough.

Margo, I just viewed the lessons and am really glad that I also found them! I have hesitated starting because I was not sure if I could paper piece or not. You have answered all of my questions and I will go forward using your hints on paper piecing. Glad I waited until now to get started. I got my kit last week and immediately washed and ironed my fabric..

Thanks for the class Margo; it was a big help.

I really like Margo's tip about drawing that set of lines 1/4" away from the sewing line!

Thanks Beth, but I hadn't tried that method until Annis showed it to us here in the forum! I think it's brilliant!
