I'm so impressed at those of you that get these Borders stars done so quickly. Each month it takes me longer and longer.I'm very sick of HST.Mine should be done tomorrow but I'm finding I am definitely losing focus.Yesterday I got up to dust while I was sewing.I remember Margo telling us to buy glue sticks and glue for next years' BOM.If I promise to whine less ,Margo can you give us a clue as to what next years project will be?

I had been doing really well with keeping up but August just messed me all up. I had pulled my next set of fabrics the day after I printed the directions. Last night I figured I'd better at least get the fabric cut and sewn and I can't find what I'd put aside. I did some clean up during the month and put things away. Now I can't even remember what the plan was. I hate it when my brain goes on vacation and leaves the rest of me behind to muddle through ops:

Teri, DUST! Yikes! You must have been bored! Hang in there, kid! Just one more month of those half square triangles, and then I am sure we will be griping about flying geese!

Yes,Maggie dusting instead of sewing, very scary.I'm sure it was HST overload.I have 3 rows left of the last border star.Forgive my whining but if I take out the vacuum I'm gonna need someone to come to Naperville for an intervention

When I jump from project to project, as I often do, I make sure to write myself a note about where I was & what I was thinking. I have notes with fabric bought in the past, and I've reminded myself what I was planning for the border & binding, even drawn myself a sketch sometimes. I'm always glad to find my memos to myself, they really help!

I actually like dusting and window cleaning. You need to be alarmed if I choose to wash floors instead of quilting! I too am loking forward to the day I put it all together...

I was looking for a pencil tonight and low and behold sitting right there were the fabrics I'd choosen. What the quilt fairy didn't divulge was where the danged pencil was.

Well, I have been busy cutting, pressing and now heading to the sewing machine. I'm behind July and August. We have been building and moving into our new house, so had to give up my machine and sewing table. I am trying to get these two months done, so this quilt will not be another UFO! Wish me luck!!

Teri, all I can tell you is that there may be some applique in the 2010 BOM, and I am now using Elmer's washable glue (sticks and liquid) to prepare my applique pieces before I sew them on the background. This works for both hand and machine applique, but you need to wash the finished quilt to get the glue out!

                        Dusting??? Holey moley!!!

Hey Pat! Mark off time on your calendar to sew your BOM blocks. If you wait to "find" time....it won't happen. If you want to get it done, you have to MAKE time to do it! Good luck!!

I also need to take that advise Margo, I am so far behind in the BOM. Pretty much all the summer months. Don't know what happened to the time. But one is in College, and the other starts school tomorrow. So hopefully that will make it easier to get going.
