    Jan BOM

I just posted my Jan. Feathered Star in Show & Tell. I probably won't get to make the rest of the blocks till sometime in May as we will be leaving home for Florida on the 14th of Feb. and won't return until about the 8th of May. Plan on visiting family in Philly, Pa. on the return trip. I haven't seen them since 2002. I will be keeping track of the forum and printing out BOM instructions while I'm away.

I just posted my 2009 BOM in Show & Tell, too. Nan, your block is really pretty! I made mine using Marsha McCloskey's book. The feathers are made using bias strips and the Bias Square ruler. I FINALLY got to use these two items after purchasing them years ago! (I'm just NOT a paper piecer!--years ago I paper pieced a one inch Twin Sister block and a four inch pineapple block--I swore never again!) Just posted my block too. I am trying to use my stash fabrics, but I have not done a lot with Asian theme fabrics and my stash just doesn't go with the feathers. So we'll see what evolves. All the posted blocks are so inspirational.

Thank you Judy, I was able to put the 4 patches together, and have almost one strip with triangle insets put together for the border, but goofed on one end and have reverse sew. I put the progress photos in my profile. I Also haven't decided on which color to use for the thin border around the feather star. Leaning towards the blue. at the rate I am going it will take me all month to finish. Even going slow, I mess up. :? Cheryl

Thanks Judy, best part half the fabric was on sale at one store, and then I had a $20 coupon at another. So I was able to save quite a bit for this project. The inset triangles was easy to pick out. It is the same as my background, just a few shades darker. Bolts were right next to each other. Cant get much easier than that. Cheryl
