Hi! I'm new, but find I am definitely in tune with many of you. January's block was a challenge but so rewarding. Now (at 6:47 pm CST) I'm checking to see if the powers that be have taken pity on us and released February's BOM yet. No, not yet. Which raises the question, just exactly when will we be able to see the next segment?

I've put up my current WIP, set out some pretty pretty fabrics, warned my husband I'd be getting up really early to get some quilting in before church, but thought I'd ask you experienced folks when to expect the big reveal.

More about myself later and in the appropriate place (which is where?)
And how do I identify myself? Don't bother to answer if February has already arrived....I'm guessing you all will be BUSY!

        Welcome Meredith!

Sometimes I've been able to download the new block right at the stroke of midnight (EST) I don't always check then so it will be waiting for me early in the morning. I'm in AZ which is MST and I have been able to get it at 10 PM our time.

I'm ironing some fabric now so it'll be ready to use and I was thinking of getting my coffee all ready to push the button in the morning!

Enjoy and glad to have you aboard!

OOPS! I think I mislead you. The time is in Central Time not Eastern. I have downloaded it at 10 PM where I am but think that was when we had Daylight Savings time, which we don't observe!

        Sorry - Sandy

Well, I am waiting also. Today my youngest grandson is 15 and so tomorrow I will have the whole day to check it out but have 2 16x24" panels to get done by Feb 17 and have not even started. One is warm colors and the other is cool colors so I guess I will start cutting and stitching them so I can get to playing with this BOM. I guess I will get my seta colors out and start painting and when the background is done the stitching will come. Since it has reached the 50's today with the ice and snow melting we were able to get out of the driveway. It is also nice to have electricity also. I was worried that I would not be able to even see the Feb. 1 lesson for another week but the line men showed up this afternoon.

Not sure what time it is EST, but it's the first here and I'm waiting impatiently. LOL

Yipee!! it's there. It is 12:04 here in Austin and the block is there. I won't start on it until the 9th or 10th because I need to finish January's block first. Plus my son is helping me to pick fabrics and he won't be home again until next weekend. He gave me some ideas for the setting triangles that I will play with before he gets home next Friday. The only reason that I'm up this late is because the opera ran late and DH and I didn't get off work until 11:15. Well off to bed, can't sew tomorrow because I'm busy all day. (Note to self: don't schedule anything on the first day of the month)

I just happened to be on line sending a birthday wish to my sister in Thailand when I remembered to check for the BOM at 1 minute after 12 and there it was! I've already downloaded it and watched the video. The instructions are really great but since I'm doing a different setting and my blocks will be larger I won't be able to follow them exactly. I'm not sure when I will find time to do this month's block but I know it won't be this week as I'm still trying to get my Pineapple quilt instructions written for the class and I will be working on other projects at the day retreat, maybe some of last year's BOMs.

Jan 31. I ordered my kit last night. I have been downloading the lessons and patterns . I am excited to get startted.

I made a Jinny Beyer, "Aroung the World" quilt which was paper piecing. It was beautiful and a wedding gift to my grand daughter. It was a real challenge. I'm suprising myselff that I am going to do it again. I think the video's and instructions are wonderful.

Question. I would like a copy of the math sheet she had on her video to make the correct side. Any one know how to get it. It's not in the instructions and i can't print it off the web side.

Bobbie, a Google search yielded this link that you might find helpful:

To determine if you need to cut half-square triangles or quarter square triangles you you just need to be aware of where you want the bias edge to be in your finished block. You always want the straight grain to be on the outside edge, and the bias edges to be secured with seams in the block.

                      Hope that helps!

I'm sitting here sipping on a cup of coffee, my instructions are printed, Sue's video viewed, just reviewed the Martingale information, keeping in touch with my TQS friends. How could life be better? I guess my Construction quilt could be magically quilted so I could start on February right this instant but this isn't a perfect world. Happy sewing everyone

Well, instructions for Feb. in my binder and while I am working on the 2 panels due in 2 weeks I will pull fabrics for it. Nothing like multi tasking. Looked at the calendar and found I really only have 8 of those days free to be home so these will really have to wait till the end of the month. My days are more complicated than when I worked.
