Susari's January 2009 Feathered Star is DONE

I finished my feathered star about 6 pm. I just posted it to my profile under personal photos and on the show and tell. I started about noon and had to stop and eat twice. I think I made pretty good time using the freezer paper foundation method. This was my first feathered star after quilting for about 30 years. I have really enjoyed all the comments and compliments I've received and the interest in the freezer paper foundation piecing method. I need to do a video on that.

I love your star! I think I'm going to have to do this one! I'm curious, what is the freezer paper method? Peggy

Very striking! Colors play well with each other, don't they? Kudos.

Susan Your Jan block is very striking. Just love the fabrics you used. I won't be starting mine for a while as I am finishing putting the last four blocks for 2008 together and have to quilt another block of the month from the Debbie Mumm site. I like to finish all my other projects before I start a new one. Can't wait to see the rest of your up coming blocks. Nan

You block is lovely, I especially like how you used different fabrics in the little "feathers" of the star!

Great fabrics for your feathered star; can't wait to see your other fabric choices. What's freezer paper piecing? Isn't that pretty heavy paper? Don't forget to post your beautiful block in the Show & Tell if you haven't already.

I am not a fan of paper piecing too easy to mess up your colors are lovely and the piecing is great. Can you point me to a web site or book so I can look into this method????? Please!!!!

It would be great to see a picture of all the fabrics you are using.
