You have all done a fantastic job (FAST) and make me even more eager to get underway! (Didn't know it was possible to be MORE eager. :P

This is going to be so much fun to see the fabrics and what they do to the blocks!

Well, I decided to select all my fabrics for the quilt today and had planned on using just my stash. But, lo and behold, I didn't have enough of the 1-1/2 and 2-yd pieces. So off to the LQS I went and bought more fabric. I am using all batiks and so far am very happy with the chosen fabrics. I'm trying to stay away from blues/pinks/purples so it will have lots of greens and browns. Tomorrow I will begin cutting and sewing. YEAH!

All the January blocks look terrific. I love the one with the dark brown background. Terrific choice of fabrics. I have my fabrics selected but haven't done any sewing yet.

Did anyone else have issues with the way the setting triangles fit? I'm looking at the pieces and it looks like the feather part is on the wrong side of the triangle. I really want to finish this tonight and be ahead of the game!

              Thanks!

*sigh* Never mind. Murphy's Law - you ask a question and then you figure out the answer. I had the pieces in the wrong spaces - it really does help to look at the example in the instructions!

Wow! Wow! Wow! Y'all have been going great on these feathered stars and they're all gorgeous! I have the fabrics picked out finally - bluish greys, rusty browns, and tans so far that I picked from my stash. Hope it works!

                    Holy cow!
I love what I'm seeing! I'm amazed that so many of you have already finished your first block -- but I should not have been surprised. Everyone's work last year was incredible, and the choices equally great... and so I'm sure that this year will be just as wonderful and full of even more surprises.

                    Happy 2009 --

I just posted my completed feathered star block and took a look at all of the completed blocks. WOW! They are all gorgeous. I'm really looking forward to this year's BOM.

After a tough week at work tonight is my designated "do my nails and sit on my butt night"! The nails are looking good now so I'll be going to bed soon. Tomorrow after church I'll start pulling fabrics and making choices. It'll be fun!

Wow, everything looks great. It was nice today so I was able to go to LQS and get background and the two 1 1/2 yard pieces. The rest will be my stash. Have got the pieces cut and tomorrow when the nasty weather come in hope to sew in the afternoon. That is if it does not storm or elect goes out. Great start to the new year and I am also starting the 5th block of the 08 one as I did not start it till end of Oct.

It is going slow for me, learning Paper Piecing is time consuming, but I am getting it, have about 8 pieces of 21, done. I seem to only be able to sit at the sewing machine for a certain amount of time (not enough)
                            See what tomorrow brings.

I had a feeling some of you would finish in the first few days. How wonderful they all look!
I have my fabrics cut, and I made the little practice house last night. It turned out so cute I was tempted to post IT in the show and tell. (Haha!) Maybe I'll throw it in my blog.
Starting on the star tonight. Wish me luck.

I finished my feathered star yesterday afternoon, but hubby was on the computer all day, so couldn't get to post until now. My dark red on the feathers don't contrast well with the black print, but will let it ride.

Love everybody's stars that have been posted! Such brilliant stars we have!
