I've posted a picture on my profile of the fabrics in the 2009 BOM kit. I didn't realize there was so much and so many different prints. The fabric is fantastic for anyone thinking about the kit.

I bought the fabric in Houston also, it was a tough decision - fabric or not but in the end after feeling it so often, and my friends telling me I HAD to have it, I did buy it. The feel is great too! What a beautiful quality to it. I'm not sorry I bought it now, I would have been disappointed had I not purchased it. Trying to get together a bunch of fabric that I don't normally collect would have been difficult and more costly. It was a wise move for me.

Thanks Wanda for the peek.... honestly, I would never have thought of pairing up some of those blues with it.

That was my thought too Carla. I can't make up my mind about what I want to do. I have a bright pink and geen and orange collection that might make up a 1/4 of the quilt. I will have to see what I can pull together. Gloria

This is gonna be as great as Christmas!

                  Hi everyone --

Already, I am chomping at the bit to see what you all choose for your 2009 block of the month! The fabrics that I was given were not ones that I would normally have chosen, so putting them together was quite a challenge! But the beauty of this quilt is that it is very scrappy... whatever you put together will work well. As one of you mentioned, it is nice to have an "anchor" fabric or "focus" fabric; I have always found that if you have one, you can just pull colors in light, medium, and dark that you see in the focus fabric. If your focus fabric is a floral (and it doesn't have to be!) and has pinks and greens and blues and yellows... then every shade of those colors can be used in your quilt and will, in the end, meld in and look great. If you have one or two that really stand out ("zingers"), all the better; those are great for some of the floaters (the little unpieced inner borders). I can't WAIT to see what you all do! You have amazed me and inspired me with your choices during the current BOM; do it again, please!

Ok, someone put the 2009 BOM into EQ6. I can't find it in the forum, does anyone know who did it? Are they willing to share? I'm starting to think of colors for the quilt and would like to play around with it.

Thank you Margo. After I did the last comment, I did remember where I had seen them: Show and Tell. Bridget already contacted me about sending me a copy of hers.

Okay, I gots me a question! (sorry about that! LOL!) I know we had a discussion earlier in the year as to printing out the patterns. I didn't pay much mind then, as I was just going to let me computer and printer do their thing, and with applique, it wasn't going to be a big deal if we were a little off. Artistic license and all! 8)

However, as 2009 will be paper pieced, and precision will be needed, my question is: when asked format on the print page, should it be none, fit to page, shrink to page, or something else?

Maggie in E. Central Illinois, I haven't gone loony! I've always been there!

GREAT QUESTION MAGGIE!! But rest assured that Sue reminds us in every set of instructions to be sure the printer scale is set to "NONE". She also gives us a test square to measure to make sure that the Paper Piecing templates are printing at the right size! Ya really don't want to do all that PPing at the wrong size!!

OK...I can see right now that explaining next year's BOM will be fun!! ops:

Margo, maybe you know the answer to this one. When will the 1st month of the 2009 BOM post? Will it be a New Year's day gift or will it be available later in the month? Inquiring minds (at least this one) want to know. Marge

I don't know for sure, and am not privy to who actually posts them, but am assuming that it will be available on the first, like we've been getting the patterns for 2008. I will ask John, and let you know what he says.
