Judy another winner! I just love the look your fabric is giving on this one.

I've uploaded the Roses & Baby Breath block! I had a horrible experience with this one - I used a blue marker on the background, and it WOULD NOT come out! First time I had this experience. I'd used a different brand on the other blocks, without a problem. I know, I know... Test First! I used every trick in the book, and finally got it light enough, but it's still not completely gone. I'm considering Margo's embroidery outline method. But then I would have to go back and outline all the background stars. On second thought, I think I can live with the very faint blue that still shows. Oh well, lesson learned.

Thank you all for the appreciated comments. Linda your block is beautiful, I can't see any blue. Remember there are no "Quilt Police" in the BOM squad. I have the star and one leave stitched down on my needle turn and my star is wonky, but it will be just fine.

I basically finished the August BOM. I placed the beads on for the photo but won't sew them on until after the project is quilted. I've posted the photo in my profile.

That IS a stunning block! The beads are the perfect complement. That is going to be one great quilt when it's finished. I love the dark background.

Great block, Linda. The beads are great! I used tiny, tiny ones and am wrondering if they are enough.

              We'll see..............

I had decided awhile back to add crystals to several of the earlier blocks but had only found one color so far. Then, the other day I found this beaded bracelet I bought in Turkey that had broken and thought the color of the beads would go great with the background star. I was quite pleased with the results.

QuilterLynn: If you think the tiny beads aren't quite enough, how about just adding more.

What a great way to preserve a vacation memento.

Well, here's my block and my beads don't show up AT ALL in this picture. They do show better on the block itself, so I'm not sure. I'm going to think about it. Might add some larger white ones and just leave the littler ones.

Lynn, Great block! Love your color choices. You can see the beads when you enlarge the picture.

To both Lindas, your blocks are great! Great colors!

Thanks for the compliments on my block. I'm now on the daunting task of working on July, lots and lots of satin stitching.

linmcquilter - even enlarged, I don't see your blue marking. You did a good job of lightening it. If you still aren't happy with it, possibly you could write to the manufacturer to get suggestions.

quilterlynn - I can see some of the beads in your photo. I like your idea of adding some larger ones with white; I think it would be a good compliment to those already on the quilt.

Just checked out all the August blocks. What great jobs everyon has done. It shows me that I don't have to try and use the colors suggested in the downloaded patterns. Sillly me.... When I do my I feel really free to do as I please. Keep up all the great work. Nan F.

Linda, I'm so embarrassed, ops: I know now why that blue pen did not want to wash out! I looked more closely at the pen I used (for only part of the block) and it's NOT EVEN A FABRIC PEN! I think it originally came with a wipe-off board or calendar. Somehow it made it into my sewing supplies! My other blue pens seemed to be drying up, so I switched over to that one. My, it made a wonderful, easy-to-see marking! But I'll never use it on fabric again, I can tell you! I used: cool water, lots of it; Dawn dish soap; lots of hydrogen peroxide; color-safe fabric bleach; then I went to Wink rust remover! I am very fortunate I was able to lighten it as much as I did. So in other words, I can't complain to the manufactor on this one! :roll
But I do thank everyone for their nice comments!

Lynn, Beautiful choice of colors and I can see the sparkles. Looks great!

Both Lindas - beautiful blocks also.

So much fun to view all the blocks and the great talent.

(I'm a late bloomer this month - hopefully in the next week )
