Thanks Maggie. The berries are a "poison yellow" or Chrome yellow reproduction fabric just out from Jo Morton. I did do a french knot in the wool small berries to hold them in place. A most accomplished appliquer/friend and I tried to needle turn the berries - when she couldn't do it, I knew it was next to impossible so we used wool. I did the bleeding hearts twice. The other fabric I used did not have enough contrast with the background, so I restarched all those little pieces. I wasn't happy at the time, but I'm glad I redid them. This project has been an awesome learning experience for me. I'll be sad when its over.

Barbara since you are fairly new to the forum, you may not be aware of the tutorials that I'm posting on my Webshots albums. You might want to see how I did mine for future reference, but your idea of wool is a great alternative!

My July block is posted on my profile. I put it in quilt photos and realized that I had to go down the list checking off all the little boxes for quilts. I also discovered that it showed up in the quilt gallery. I hadn't meant for that to happen since it is only a block at this point. Next time, I will delete a picture from the extra pictures area and use that space. Live and learn.
Leslie, who now has a guilt free week until the August BOM pattern is posted.

Those are cute little berries. What threw me was the word Feb. BOM beside the picture. Since I am not doing the BOMs, I was not that familiar although I have seen others. DUH!!!!!!!!!! I was not thinking. I do want to start the BOMs and be a BOMette, but still have way too may other BOMs to work on and would hand applique. I haven't yet picked out my fabric BUT have downloaded all of the patterns and hole punched them and put them in a binder so they won't get lost. Does that count for starting to be a BOMette?
