this is a JPG of the image I made in Flash. it's not 100% accurate to the pattern, just a close-enough approximation I made from the first photos released. what do you think of the black background?

LOVE IT!!! It is quite stunning!!

I was thinking mine needed more lime green and I see you added it to the corner applique colors, which I exactly where I was thinking it needed to go too!! I also wanted to put a darker background in the very center star, was thinking darkest purple but I do love your black!!

I like the way the black background highlights the jewel tones and at the same time makes the warm tones pop!

The black background is sensational...highlights those wonderful jewel tone colors.

I have been absent from the BOM forum for the past two years, but Sedona Star has been talking to me since I first saw it! I am also going to go with a black or dark back ground, and using the colour wheel ala Jacqueline de Jonge for my brights! It is going to be a fabulous year!

Wow! I love the black background. Now the quilt really speaks to me! I now know how Robin G. felt last year! Can I work on two quilts at once? I am still on March of last year's BOM. (Why did I decide to hand applique the whole thing, when I am not even an appliquer?) I'm thinking with severe time management I might be able to do this. I do tend to get distracted! But, it would be fun to try!

I copied the PDF version of the coloring template into Paint, using the Snapshot feature of adobe reader, and colored it online. Paint creates a .png file on a save and I mistakenly changed it to .jpeg before I completed coloring it so I didn't get to finish (wherever it is still white) as the Paint functions "color picker" and "color fill" didn't work as well with the .jpeg format. However, I got enough completed for you to get the jist. It's attached below. What appears black is really a very dark green. I doubt that I will be making this quilt during the quilt along, but it might be in my future. I've also attached a copy of the phot that I used for the color scheme inspiration.

Nancy - I LOVE your color way idea, and I also love the way that you took the colors from a photo. I'm impressed!
