    Music

As I sit here and listen to Enya, I'm wondering what do you all listen to while you're appliqueing? Or...do you watch TV?
Personally, I like to keep DH company while he watches some action shows, but when I'm alone, it's "right brain" music.

Audible.com. It is an Amazon company. I download to my smart phone. I absolutely love to listen to a book and quilt either by hand or machine. I never have time to actually "read" a book.

I have a large collection of classical music cds left to my by my dear late husband who loved to collect books and cds. I listen to those AND to audiblebooks.com books when I'm working in my studio. Sometimes, though, I sit by my computer and do handwork watching TQS shows. I've been watching the older ones a bit...they are delightful!

For me it depends on the day!!! I love , love , love audio books. Download to my mp3 player for free from the library. As for music, on my Ipod I have the music grouped to dance, rock, slow. And I play it according to my mood that day. I have just joined the blog world recently and one of the most commented replies I get is on my music Playlist. I can not read blogs when the music is distracting. So on my blog, the music is at a much slower pace. But I also do not want to fall asleep!!!!
And I agree with you Eileen, when the family is around (kids home from school/husband at night) I maybe sewing but I like to be apart of what is happening and be present with them. It is All about balance!!!!

If you want to hear some of what I sew to (by far this list is so... limited to what I listen to)

I quilt to country. Nothing better than the rhythm of the machine and the steel guitars to put me in the zone. Sandi

Definitely audiobooks! If I put on the tv I end up distracted and just sit looking at the tv instead of sewing. That way I can read and sew at the same time.
