Thanks for all the positive comments about my block. I so appreciate the feedback. To Dawn: No, the remodel is still going; BUT I think in two weeks it will be done. I sure have missed my studio!! I've sewn at a friend's house and of late, carved out some space in my room. The space just works for projects that are in process.

        Hello, everyone -

I have to apologize for not paying a lot of attention to everything lately, but life steps in sometimes and makes its own punches in your time card. Anyway, this morning I spent some time looking at the Show and Tell... and was blown away with the wonderful pictures I saw! From Marg and Zolie's complementary quilts to the triangle borders to the leafy borders to the wonderful different center blocks to Annis's mini-mini quilt.... to ALL of the fabric choices I saw... you all amaze me! I should never be surprised by what quilters can create, but I am - because it's all overwhelmingly lovely!

Keep up the wonderful work, ladies and gentlemen -- at year-end, I know that you will all have quilts that you dearly love!

Thanks for all your good thoughts -
        Sue Garman

          Terry,
Your block is wonderful! You're still ahead of me-I'm appliqueing the leaves and berries slowly but surely.

Sue, don't feel bad about not being able to post a lot. Believe me, we all understand how life can just pick on you sometimes.

Sue, I too understand why you haven't been able to post, with all that you have going right now. I haven't worked on my BOM's all summer. I can't wait to do that final border! But I don't think they will be finished by year end. It seems they want me to do the HST's first, and there's no way my strips or batiks are going to get sewn this year unless I decide to take lots of time off work. Hope you're staying cooler than we are.

I'm making myself crazy! I'm officially 8 months behind on this quilt and it's very discouraging. :? ops: I think, in order to feel some sort of accomplishment, I'm going to work on the piecing parts of the quilt. Then I can do the applique at night, if I'm not completely brain dead.
I swore I'd keep up this time. Anyone else way behind?

Eileen, you've probably seen me say this before, but if you really want something done, you can't just wait to "find time" to do it, you have to "MAKE" the time.
You need to schedule time for it, just like any other important appointment.
Write it on your calendar. Designate a time slot. Gently say "no" to other requests that interfere with that time slot by just saying you have a previous commitment.
If this is important to you, it's worth the time it will take to get it done. See it on your calendar and look forward to getting to work on it!

Even if it is just 15 minutes each morning before your normal day starts it will give you 5 hours of sewing a month even if you take off on the week-ends!
Work a couple of hours every Tuesday (?) night? You will put in 8 hours a month.
Can you work all day every other Saturday? 16 hours a month. Just do what you can.

                YOU CAN DO THIS!

                  Yep, I am behind.

I'm with Ritzy... behind her... . I've only got half a fores
t done and a zillion other projects to do. But I decided to not let it make me crazy. Work does that already and why allow my quilting to add to that? I just plug along, do what I can do and enjoy it. Life is way to short to make quilting a "drag." Enjoy your pace and progress.... geneva in Northern CA.

                      Eileen -

You are not alone. I'm a little further along than you (I'm still in month 3), but had to put the BOM aside to work on my nephew's college graduation quilt so I can get it finished before our guild show in Oct. I'm also working on a wholecloth quilt that I'm hoping will get into MQS in Overland Park next spring (my first wholecloth quilt, my first judged/juried show quilt, please don't let me screw this up!!), so that has to also come before the BOM quilt. But I plug away periodically and will get back to it with a passion when I get these other things out of the way!

Eileen, I've only done the first two months and life has got in the way. I look at it on the design wall every day and hope to get back to it soon. Don't worry, you are not alone.

Yep, I'm behind in just about all my projects and want to try list! But, like Margo says, try to carve out a few minutes out of every day to work on the project. You really do see progress and sometimes, you even end up spending more time on the project than you think! Now, if that garden would just slow down the production a bit, I'd have more time to quilt!
