    BOM 2011

I am having trouble printing out Block One to make the test square 1" even after the suggestions on Sue's instructions. Is anyone else having that problem and if someone knows what I might try to get the 1" square to be 1" ops:

Blinky2 -- check out the thread under Ruffled Roses 2011 -- "An error in the Introduction".

the one inch test square was incorrect.

Thanks so much Judy!!!! Well, I have enough copies now...lol Thanks again...I am trying to find my background fabric! I am wondering if the 7 1/2 yards that I need can be in two pieces to equal the 7 1/2 yards?

Blinky2, here is the link to the info:

Please accept my apologies for the confusion. You might also want to read what Sue's dealing with and understand why we don't want to bother her with details that we can work around:

Yes! The background is going to be cut up into lots of little pieces!! That will work fine!

Thanks Margo about the info on the background fabric! I was just looking at the thread with the error in introduction but it looks like they are talking about the practice paper pieced pattern. So should I make sure the Block one pattern has a 1 inch square when printed?

Margo, I just read Sue's link that you posted. I just joined the Quilt Show today and did not realize all she is growing through right now. I really don't know what to say. I will keep Sue and her family in my prayers and in my heart.

Month one should print out so that the master applique design measures less than 15" x 15" (finished size). The outside edges on that pattern will NOT measure 7-1/2". Don't worry about that....just make sure the design itself is inside the 15" square.

Sue does get to the forum occasionally, and I know that she is uplifted by notes left for her on that topic. Please add to it if you would like!

Okay guys, here is my first section. I am loosely basing this on Sue's ruffled roses quilt but a fall theme just kept recurring to me. This is a big leap for me as I have always stuck with what the designer did and also the purchased kit. I am going to try to get past my mental block and choose my own colors out of my stash. Hope you guys don't mind. The color doesn't show much but it is a dark green setting triangles. The light was not that great today here.

Yesterday I traced the stems for the Ruffled Roses onto freezer paper. Then I ironed it onto my fabric, and cut it all out, leaving a quarter of an inch for my needle turn. I sat down at 3:00pm in the afternoon, and I appliqued until 10:00pm. I finished exactly one half, the inside, of the stem that creates the heart (I am very slow). Grin
This afternoon I plan on sitting down again, and finishing the stems. Tomorrow.....leaves!!!!!! :P
