JoJo, that's a lovely selection of fabrics. I think that a Christmas quilt is defined by the colors as much as the pattern of the fabric. I always like green reds and gold for Christmas. You have plenty of the first two in your selection. Dawn's suggestion for the centre sounds beautiful too. This is all getting so exciting, even of rthose of us who may not make a BOM quilt this year. :-)

Oh, JoJo! That' collection looks great! Your stripes could be used in lots of ways and I love the punch that the black adds! Thanks for sharing your fabric choices with us.

Dawn has some cool ideas too and Pam's suggestion for adding gold is good! You don't have to stick to just 16 fabrics!

Thanks for all the suggestions. I did look at some gold fabrics initially but couldn't find quite the right shades. I'll keep looking.

Great ideas of holly leaves! I think I can manage that. The poinsettia flowers however may be a bit much for me because the roses look kind of small and making a poinsettia flower that small might put me over the deep end. I love the idea though and may play around with drawing once I see the instructions and how much room I have to play with.

Jo, Jo, I love the idea of your making this quilt a Christmas quilt and you've done a fabulous job with your fabric selection. I can't wait to see this one when it's finished!

JoJo, the center appliquéd block FINISHES at 15" x 15" if that helps you with your design. With the setting triangles to set it on point, the center will then measure 21-1/4" FINISHED SIZE. See what you can do within those measurements!

Margo, I love your quilt! I saw Sue's quilt in person in Houston and had decided to do that color wave, but now I'm on the fence after seeing yours. They are both beautiful quilts. I like the piping and your quilting is very pretty.

Thanks Debbie! The center of my quilt top was also in Houston, but it was displayed under the TV where the videos were playing, so you probably couldn't see it well. The colors really are much prettier "in person"!

JoJo, your Christmas colors are wonderful!! I don't think the poinsettia would be that hard to do -- I've been collecting poinsettia designs because I love them. I'd be happy to help you with the design if you like. Goodness, everyone's colors are so wonderful -- I want to make about 6 of this quilt now!

Well, start picking out some fabric and we can play together! I've been playing with the center adding holly leaves and I think I've just about got the poinsettia flower to fit.

Thanks so much for the suggestions Dawn. I ate dinner and then have been drawing holly leaves and poinsettias all night.

Actually, yes I would love to have some help. Thank you for the offer. My flower is okay, but it's nice to have a 'melding of the minds' so to speak!

I'm thinking of doing Christmas colors also but with batiks so it would prob have a very different look. http://appleblossomquilts.danemcoweb...gory/patterns/ This site has some poinsettia and holly appliques if you want other ideas. I have one of the patterns and may pull a center block from it. I would really like to do this in several colorways but need to settle on one soon.
