Thank you for this assessment. I plan on testing my Bloc Loc ruler to see how it does. I haven't used it before so look forward to seeing the result.

Has anyone found the download for month 3? When I click on the download instructions for month 3 in TQS BOM 2017, it just downloads the first introductory section and not month 3 instructions. Maybe I am just too excited to get there and they haven't been posted yet?

Click the download on the page you posted, it will take you to another page, then scroll down to find month 3. I just did this on my iPad without any problems. Good luck. Janet

Barbara, thank you for your tips. They are so helpful and of course I was going to post a question about the 'test size' of the printed foundations and you answered it before I had a chance to ask it. Thank you so much.

I downloaded the Month Three instructions fine. Was there going to be an "Instructional Video" that goes with every month?
I saw Month One and Two but not Month Three. It didn't click into a video.

Just curious. The written instructions are so well done you don't really need it but they're kind of fun. Sue's old videos really help too.

I am cutting my fabric on this cold day (for March) in the South and have a question. For fabric A, cut 3 says to cut parallel to selvage. Does that mean I cut a 2 inch wide strip parallel to selvage or a 5 inch strip parallel to selvage? I'm figuring 2 but want to be sure.

Barbara, I made a huge mistake. My center from month 1 and 2 measures 27.5 square. However my star blocks measure 4.5 by 5.5 and when I sewed the 9 of them together for the top border for month 3, they are measuring 38.25 an entire 10.75 bigger. That means I would have to add a huge floater. I'm thinking perhaps I printed out the star blocks too big. Could you tell me what the actual star block should measure. Not sure what I'm going to do at this point. What a disappointment.

I'm working on mine as well and I think you will be okay. My blocks are 4.5 x 5.5 as well. My floater ends up being .75 wide instead of the 1 inch example. However, when you add the side borders you are adding 5.25 inches, twice, so that when you add the top and bottom borders they should be close. I'm not sure my explanation makes sense, but I think you should be okay. Just use the floaters calculation template in the instructions and add the side borders first.

I got frustrated paper piecing such a simple block. TOO SLOW! I'll save paper piecing for next month when there's no choice. I'm whipping out 4 accurate little geese at a time using Deb Tucker's Wing Clipper ruler. She appeared in episode 1707. Don't know for sure if she demo'd that ruler on the episode, but that episode is how I found her website in the first place.
