Okay, I rushed. Lots of sewing to get done by Christmas; so I went ahead and did the square-in-square and final applique borders. Done done done!!
Well, except for quilting....
But very happy!

I cut my borders 6 1/2" wide so the finished border will be 6". I also enlarged the applique cross pattern from the earlier border to make it a more appropriate size for the 6" space. The finished crosses are about 5" across.
