Hayleysmom and Dahlialady - beautiful blocks you have both created, I love your colour choices too. They have given me the motivation to start my Rajah quilt.
    Best Wishes Pam

            Hello all,
fabulous appliqué by many- I uploaded my own block and month 2 border on another strand but decided to join in here as well.
I didn't have the patience to do all the detail so I enlarged the pattern 200%, selected 2 birds, some leaves and a few flowers. I fused these onto the base fabric, then added buttonhole stitch around all appliqué by hand. Stems are perle cotton embroider thread attached using couching foot and green zigzag thread (similar to idea in instructions. I'm pleased with the results.
I'm using my (very large) stash of Kaffe Fasset fabric with several off-white fabrics in mini-print (barely there).
This is my first BOM - and first paper/foundation piecing. I do like to do needle turned appliqué so am planning that for next month and the last. Great activity for dreaded faculty meetings!

Love your interpretation of the design. Yes, those little pieces were quite demanding. Your design came you really nice and love your choice of fabrics. Can' wait to see how the quilt progresses.

I have decided to do the centre block using a fabric from Lynette Anderson ( last years BOM). The fabric already has flowers, leaves and birds.

MSHendel, Love your custom interpretation of the center. On several of the past year's BOMs, there have threads on making the BOM half-size. You turned that idea on its ear by enlarging motifs in the center block -- such a neat solution. Love your use of Kaffe fabrics.
