It was so much fun to meet Susan and share her enthusiasm and love of quilting. Together we drooled over both of Janet's quilts, and Sherry Reynold's quilt called "Fire in the Sky" - wall quilt home machine quilted. According to the steward both front and back of the quilt were entered and judged. Only the back was display. Of course, it was gorgeous. The show was great. I agree with Susan about negotiating Lancaster. Make sure the GPS is in working order. We got one of the last parking spaces in the garage at 8:45AM. Go early! The city is lovely and worth the trip.

Guess where we are???????? The detail (AFter piecing) of this quilt is amazing. Janet, do you do your own quilting??? What is the rainbow thread on the sashing?

OMG, Sue! So fun to see your pictures and so glad you got to go to Lancaster! Yes, I do my own quilting on my Janome 6600 sewing machine. The rainbow thread I used on the border is called Mirage by Wonderfil (color 26). It is a 30wt. rayon and I had no issues with it at all going through my machine. Here's the link: http://www.wonderfilonline.com/produ...products_id=71
Thanks so much for posting the pictures!

Sue, I said I used that thread on the black polka dot border, but I also used it on the sashing.

http://wsqg.org/Reynolds.htm has one picture from the front.

I googled the title Fire in the Sky Sherry Reynolds. Under Images, Karen Kay Buckley posted a decent photo of the front from Quilt Odessey.

We couldn't see the front. As Lois said, there where no white glovers in Lancaster.

As an add-on here for ya'll miniature quilt makers, there was also a small exhibit of 10-12 miniatures. We weren't allowed to photograph them, but Pat Holly had her India quilt in to. If you ever get a chance to see it, that's another amazing piece. So were all the mini's. Pat must quilt with a microscope.

The Quilts of Valor exhibit was also quite impressive...all red, white and blue (mostly), modern, & well-done.

If anyone else reminds me of a quilt that was at Lancaster, I'll see if I have a picture...got about a gazillion because I can see them better on my monitor than I could at the show...an eye-sight issue.

Susan, so glad you asked Janet about her quilting. I was wrong thinking she didn't do it. ops: ops: ops: I thought I heard her say during her episode that she didn't quilt it. Where did I get that? I knew my brain is forgetting lots of stuff but I didn't think I had started halucinating yet.  I am going to watch the episode again to see what made me think that. It's not my intention to pass along misinformation. So sorry!

Just remembered that I loved seeing BJ's "Dad's House Plan". It's just lovely. Pictures do not do it justice. Wonderful work BJ.
