Thanks for sharing Josie--it is never too late to post an opinion. You never know who you might help.

Starch is your friend and so is grain line! (unless, of course, you are using the applique shapes where grain doesn't really matter.

        Josie,
I have a few old sheets that I cut up into pieces to use when I want to test a new die. I like to starch mine well first.

I haven't done a Quilt Show BOM yet either, but I really want to do this one. Have to finish 2 other quilts for family first.

Don't be, it is just fabric and if you run out, hey you will just have to go & buy some more  Andree's recommendation about show 1404 is good and if you are not keen on the results you can always use it on the back - I am a great believer of 'back art' or double sided quilts 8)

          PS welcome to the forum

I love my go cutter. I too have problems with arthritis and it has helped me cut strips and improved my daughters accuracy too. Watch the sales at Joann's usually during the holidays they deep discount them. Next up will probably be Memorial weekend. When I purchased mine. With last years BOM I cut some of the flowers using my cutter and circles. It's called creative license. I like that we have options in our endeavors.

AND Josie, if you don't like the practice block--make it into a mug rug.
