Lorna, would that be Texas or California? I am learning about parts of the USA from putting my spools together for Wot RoTT - it's like a geography lesson.

Rita, that would be Texas. I wouldn't be surprised if there were more than 1 San Antonio in the USA. Even here I have run into that. We were up visiting Durham last year. People would ask where we were from and we would say we are living in Brandon. Well that is when we learned there is a Brandon way up there in addition to down here in Suffolk county.

But I bet there is only one Piddle Hinton - honest, genuine Dorsetshire village, I could probably find a few more strange village names of similar ilk, but will refrain....

Love the photo, Rosemary! What is the "Fame" "Shame" in the background all about?

I think it is a competition of who can eat a humumgous plate of food in a given time. Fame will be those who managed it, and shame will be those who failed. This competition is familiar to anyone who has watched the american series 'Man V Food'

When I lived in Suffolk there was a place called "Six Mile Bottom" The mind boggles as to how it got it's name

Here in Missouri, USA, we call a low lying area near a river, a bottom. There is one about 14 miles from here. If anyone says they are going to the Bottom, everyone knows what they mean. Ours is about 15 miles long.

I think we should all move to Quilty, a town we found while driving around Ireland! How cool is that?

Hmmm, what's the weather like in Quilty? Can we pick some place slightly tropical year round?

Don't want it too warm all year round - we wouldn't need the quilts....
