    Moving to Scotland

It depends where in Scotland she is but it has a thriving quilting community in many places. There is always the internet if she's not near a city for buying supplies and machine.

Scotland is region 16 of the Quilters Guild of the British Isles link to guild website If she contacts them they'll put her in touch with a local group. Scotland is a big place

I have a friend who is moving to Thorso, Scotland for 18 months. She wants to know if there is a possibility of buying a sewing machine there, and if there is a quilt guild nearby. We are in the US.

The Scottish members of the British Guild are quite an active bunch, and that is not easy because of the low population density in most of Scotland, so getting together is not always easy. but your friend will be made very welcome, I'm sure.
