    An idea if you can't go to the big show

    A lot of my quilty friends are busily preparing to go to Houston now--some are teaching, some just going to have fun. It's only a few weeks until the start of Houston IQF (Nov 3-6). So what if you can't go and still are wishing you had the creative refreshment and opportunity to take classes that such a quilt filled break provides? I wrote a blog post about my idea. Maybe you don't have time, maybe you don't want to spend the money, or maybe you don't quite have the energy it needs.
    Here's my blogpost about this: What if you can't go to Houston...Then...

    What do you think? It could be customized for your own situation...timing, classes, length of time...and other ways.

    Betty Jo,
    The link didn't work for me. Just thought you'd want to know

      I don't know why the link didn't work. I erased it and tried again. I hope it works now.

          Betty Jo, Your idea is spot on! Half the work of being creative is making sure you give yourself time to do the work. A retreat in your own home with pre selected classes is a great way to do this.

          Thanks! geneva

            Thanks. While I wrote it as an idea for those unable to go to Houston, I actually intend it to be a suggestion for anytime you need a creative boost. Would love to hear back about whether you do this or not, or even if you have ideas for improving it, suggestions for great online classes, etc.
            Cheers.

              Has anyone read whether TQS will have a presence in Houston this year and whether there will be a 2017 BOM?

                !st of all, my own personnel retreat is a great idea, preparing for & watching a sewing lesson for a creative boost is a great idea!! Shutting my door to my sewing room, with all my supplies & snacks for my own retreat can be a great way to escape for a bit!
                As far as the 2017 BOM, Alex had announced on her 1st video that Sue Garman will be designing the quilt & it will be announced at Houston...I CANT WAIT!!
                However, my heart does break for her and the many difficulties life has given her, maybe designing is her way of escaping? I know I can relate to that...prayers for Miss Sue );

                  I hope so! I have been wondering the same. Alex has posted that she will be there, but I do not see TQS, Alex or Ricky listed one the vendor list.

                    I saw that they will be there, but they don't have a TQS booth. It think they are sharing Floriani's booth (for Quilter's Select products). Unfortunately, I won't be there. Have fun all you who are going.
