    Backing fabric showing through

Help , I guess I just wanted to know if this has happened to someone else, I have just finished quilting on my white and cream tone on tone and red quilt top 2014 BOM , used a white cotton batting , thought that would be best , my backing has white background with red polka dots , had not seen a problem , until I held it up to light and backing shows through , what a big disappointment , but nothing to do about it , too late , on some scrap I tried the cream batting and it happened with that also. I've never had that happen to me before ,my backing was too bright. . From now on I will always hold fabric up to light before I ever put one stitch in, obviously it will only be a problem , if it is hung with light from the back, but still so disappointed, , I guess I just had to vent. Thanks

Go ahead and vent all you want. I can't think of any way to fix it, but I can sympathize.

I read somewhere that most printed fabrics start to fade in light after a surprisingly short amount of time. So you wouldn't want to let light shine through your quilt regardless. Enjoy your quilt.
