    How to Make a Triptych

It seems that I remember seeing on one of the older shows someone demonstrating how to make a stand alone triptych. I have searched and can't find anything. I kinda have an idea that I would like to try a quilted one for Christmas. So, am I just imagining that I saw it on a show? Does anyone know where I might find instructions? I googled and didn't really find anything. Thanks.

I couldn't find it searching the shows. Can you remember the technique it might help you find the show.

There is a class for making fabric books by Cheryl Lynch that may help you https://thequiltshow.com/learn/classrooms/category/latest/folding-fiber-books.

Several years ago I saw one that used separating zippers. The sections could be hung as individual quilts in a group setting, or combined into one piece.

Try show 614 and see if that helps.

At the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham last year there was a "zipper" quilt that I thought was pretty cool. The different sections were different parts of a bird that you could then put back together as you like I think. Silly me. I was so impressed with zipping the parts together that I don't seem to have a picture of the whole quilt. It was in the group quilts and called Bird Parade by HQM.

          Gran5,
Yesterday I happened to see a nice tryptych in the January American Quilter magazine. "Wondering Round My World" by Beth Schillig. It won the Best Wall Quilt in Chattanooga.
This might give you some ideas. Beth talks about it on her website, bethschillig.com.
By the way, the magazine said she used Ricky Tims fabric for her background.

Thanks Lorna, that's the show I was thinking of (actually 613).
