UFOs - what do we need to finish?

I'm posting here mainly just to continue my attempt to understand the forum on the new website! I'm not usually computer illiterate but I simply am not finding this to be intuitive. I find that in addition to Bonnie Hunter's ongoing mystery, Grand Illusion, I need to finish quilting another mystery quilt from 2013, and a Carol Doak quilt from even longer ago.

Now, I WANT to add a picture within this post, but so far, the only way I see to do it is to attach a file, and I'm not at all sure that's what I want to do. I guess I'll try it and find out!

This is the quilting I've begun on a newgroup (RCTQ) mystery quilt.

This is the Carol Doak quilt that I'm going to quilt using an Edge to Edge design by Amelie Scott designs using the embroidery module of my Bernina 440.

Both are gorgeous, and lovely quilting on the top photo.

High Five! You figured out how to add the photo files.

Both are so pretty,Carole! I had never heard of Amelie Scott designs and just watched her on you tube. How clever! I'm going to check in to that further.

Thanks, Kathy. Now am I right that since this isn't part of a "group," this post won't stay available for very long? How long do posts stay when they are put into a topic like this, do you know?

This is what the edge to edge quilting design in the embroidery module is looking like so far.

This is good for smaller quilts, but the constant re-hooping would make it VERY tedious for a larger quilt. This quilt is a throw size and it's taking a long time. Still, I like the effect, and since I don't have a long-arm, it's an interesting alternative.

I've never heard of Amelie Scott designs but do have an embroidery module with my Bernina 830 so will definitely go take a look at her website. Thank you Carole.

For Kathy (TribbleMom): this is a perfect example for the use of "Favorite." I really like what Carole did with her embroidery module and would love to put a star by her entry to remember that she uses the embroidery module with Amelie Scott designs. Then when I want to see it again, I can go to my "list" of Favorites and click on this one to go back to Carole's entry. Currently, unfortunately, you can only make the topic a favorite, which means that you could potentially have to scroll through a hundred or so pages to find what Carole's entry... not what "Favorites" is there to do. It's supposed to get you right to the place you wanted to mark for future reference. Hope this helps.

Carole....I think things posted here on the regular forum threads will stay indefinitely. Things posted
in/on the group wall will disappear ...unless they are posted in a "discussion". They stay then...I think.
It is easy to just post to the wall, but we should be using the "discussion"....Ugg...why so many choices ???
And then there is the regular community wall...where everything and then some gets repeated !! RRRRrrrr!

It is NO WONDER I am so confused. :silly: I agree that there are too many places to choose from and it's hard to decide what the best option is for making a post. However, at least I AM managing to post...and to be able to add a photo, at least, here in the forum.

Carole, love both of your quilts. I am hand quilting a smallish wall hanging that is actually from Alex's book with machine applique. I've been quilting it for a few years now, just lately picked it up and am doing much better with the hand quilting. I have a baby quilt top to be machine quilted, the baby is due in 10 weeks. A sashiko quilt that is on the back burner because I can't figure out where to go with it. And, a new project, a kit my Mom got me for Christmas that has lovely green batiks, and some applique on top of that. This is much less than a year ago! Kathy

Yes Carole, Your quilts are lovely. I love the colors.

Marilyn, Sounds as if you've figured out some of the stuff about how groups work different from the Forum. There really are so many choices. I am mainly just checking out the Forum on a regular basis and check new posts. I guess I could be missing entire new groups working that way. Hmm.
