Is there anyone out there in our quilting community with connections in the textile manufacturing world who could find out if there plans to sell cotton yardage of that fabulous diamond-patterned design? It is absolutely gorgeous and I would buy lots of yards. The Sochi Olympic committee could make a mint with all the quilters around the world if they were to license it for manufacture and distribution.

Wonder where/how TQS's attention was drawn to those designs. Perhaps that's the place to start if we were to try to research how to find it.

After re-reading the daily blog entry on Feb. 1...I see where it looks like a retail merchandiser...Bosco...in
Russia designed and produced clothing, etc. What struck me was the concept ...it just seemed unusual .
We sure don't hear much about quilting in that part of the world. Though there was a beautiful slide show
from there a long time ago...

I checked out the Sochi Olympic website selling souvenirs and found items with the coveted designs. They don't ship outside Russia. Took a picture of the screen but not sure how to get it here. I will try. It's on my clipboard maybe I can just paste it. Here goes.

              That didn't work.

Neither did downloading it from Dropbox. Sorry.

Surprise. I did work after all. Perhaps we can use it for inspiration and get a closer look this way.

I just decided to go to the source so I contacted Bosco to see if they had plans to license fabrics. I won't hold my breath getting a reply.

Thanks for sharing, Nancy. It's great to get the story behind the design and what they represent.

knew the reach of such a fabric design??

Beautiful! Love their idea to display their regional art into the fabric. I too wish it was available for purchase. I would prefer yardage of each individual pattern to place in a quilt as I would like. I do love they their quilt, but just imagine what we could all come up with if we had the individual patterns.

No one in my circle of friends and family seems to be as excited as I am about the diamond quilt theme. I jumped up and down when I saw it! It is FAB!

Funny thing, for me, I just bought fabric and pattern for a diamond quilt! Think I mentioned it elsewhere. Also taking Craftsy class with Jan Krentz on diamonds. well worth it!

I also love the snowboarding team's patchwork jackets. Check out this article about it here---> http://onboardmag.com/news/scene-new...-uniforms.html

I have dozens and dozens of thrifted men's shirts, so a similar fabric like this one would be much easier to replicate.

                              Enjoy,
