As for quilting it, start off with sid ess (boring but works) and then you will start to see what else it wants. Personally I am a big believer in stitching around paper templates, taking it slow & steady.

Heather, you can quilt this yourself! Anyone who can piece like this can certainly quilt it! I agree with Rosemary, do all of the basic stitch-in-the-ditch which will stabilize it nicely and then you can think about fancy stitching while you're at it.

Ann Peterson has a great Craftsy class called:
Quilting Big Projects on a Small Machine

If you are already a Craftsy member, there is a sale going on. http://www.craftsy.com

I think your quilt is awesome!

thanks for the vote of confidence : )

I can for sure do the stitch in the ditch work (egads, on all those seams??? oye. yes, I know....I know....) but not sure if that is all it will want and not sure I can do the other stuff. Will see.

Since reading about Rosemary going so slow as to hand crank the wheel, I think I've given myself permission to do so as needed, which will certainly help! I have a month in the US to debate it, and then a nice long time to get it quilted as there is no deadline. So, we'll see.

You guys almost make me believe I can pull it off!

You can do it Heather. There is always the putting your quilting pattern on paper, mounting the paper in place and stitching over it. There are many different ways to accomplish your goal if you know what your goal is.

I had missed this thread so I went to the beginning and read it through, great work Heather, I recently discovered Sharyn Craig and her on point patterns and ruler I have asked my LQS to order for me I have round robin blocks that need to be put together but straight sets seemed so boring, Sharyn's designs are amazing. She has videos on Youtube the one called Building Blocks is one hour but it is worth every minute. I got up at six am and watched it with coffee. Enjoy your time in the US Heather. Joan
