ROCHESTER MI- Ricky Tims Seminar - on line meet up!

JUST want to say HI to all the quilters who were at the RICKY TIMS SEMINAR in Rochester MI this past week. May 2-3-4th. We had a large number of new TQS member sign up and I am really looking forward to talking with you. I am hoping you will say hello, tell us a little about yourself.

If you add a reply here we will know your USER NAME making it easier to identify each other.
I also think we should indicate which guild we belong to...

Long time TQS users can also introduce themselves to the new members.

My USER NAME is LADY RAGS ( family nickname). I started quilting in 2005 and took many classes at the local quilt shop. I originally was a star / free member for several years because of limited internet service; finally we got high speed.. I bought every show's DVD. I have found TQS shows, classes and this forum has greatly influence my quilting stye but more it has been great form of knowledge and also entertainment. I belong to the Evening Star Quilt Guild in Davison, as I still work a full time job.

I look forward to having TQS quilting sister that live near by

Saw you there, and have seen you here, Nonnie. I've been a member of TQS for a while, and even went to a show recording once. (I volunteer at the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative and was there when Ami Simms was recorded. And that same day someone who was a lecturer and workshop teacher at the Genesee Star guild also was taped - Edyta Sitar!)
I was sooooo sad about Libby; she was the one I had really anticipated meeting at the Seminar. An anyurism (sp?) is a scary thing, but many do recover very well from them. I'll keep praying for her.

Glad to meet you, which guild are you a member of? I would love to see a taping of TQS... only thing is I hate to travel... wonder if I could TELEPORT? This Seminar was the best event I have been to in a long time. Ricky and crew were so organized in their presentation; so professional. Even though they were worried about Libby they made this a fun event. I really am amazed that more quilt guilds do not host this events.

I am looking forward to more conversations on this forum.

It was such an exciting event and I want to say thank you to all guild members for doing a fabulous job. I also have loved the quilt show for several years and encourage others to join. We are all obsessed with our fabric and sewing machines and who better to share it with. you all! I look forward to sharing with this forum.

Hey from Ann Arbor, though I haven't been a member of the guild for a while. This was my third Super Seminar. Years ago I attended one in Grand Rapids, and also Phoenix while visiting relatives - or should I say I visited relatives while attending the Super Seminar! I have to thank Ricky and Justin for directing me to the Bernina 780 - (I was set to buy the 830). I am missing Libby SO much. I studied with her at Asilomar, and she has been a major influence. Ricky and Alex and the support crew did a tremendous job under the very worst of circumstances. As a two-time cancer survivor, it has been my goal to enjoy each day we are given. Today I will sew and watch Libby's video.

Congratulation for being a survivor. I never met Libby but I am in agreement with you about she will be missed. I love her machine information videos. She is so knowledgeable about her machines. She has inspired me to explore my machine more and experiment.
