    Thanks for the compliments everyone.

I would love to put it on the wall but I don't think I have a place big enough for it. The quilt measures 92" square.

Susan her are a couple of close ups of the borders. Their are 2 different greek key blocks (different clolor placement) and I had to really watch which way they were laid out.

The pattern for the quilt came from the book "Judy Martin's Log Cabin Book".

        Beautiful Teresa!!

Becky - besides Carpal Tunnel you have "De Quervain's Syndrome". I have that too. Go to Utube and find videos about massage, stretches, and strengthening exercises to do for it. Sometimes when it flares up, I wear a wrist brace that keeps my thumb in a straitened position, and that really helps.

        Good luck with it!

Teresa - Beautiful quilt! I have two in the works from this pattern. One, I'm in the middle of quilting and really want to get back to that sometime soon. The other is from Christmas fabrics and I added some pieced in stars in some of the background blocks. That one I'm still piecing. They are both in my UFO pile. They jump out periodically for some progress then hide away again as they are for me and don't have any deadlines. I love Judy Martin patterns!!

Teresa, that is one fabulous fabulous quilt. Absolutely love everything about it!

Becky & Michelle, my doctor had advised me to wear my wrist braces at night. Helps to keep that thumb straight and let the tendons relax for quite a few hours at a time.. Of course, depending on what I'm doing ill also wear them during the day during 'flare-ups'

I have had the carpel tunnel surgery years ago and I had it before I developed the severe painful symptoms you folks describe. My most difficult symptom was that my hand would fall asleep (pins and needles) during the night and interupt my sleep several times a night. I was totally out of rest. After surgery the symptoms disappeared. I noticed increased strenght in my hand. I began doing hand work that I had laid aside for years. It was almost as if it had been an unconscious decision to stop the handwork. After surgery I turned into a knitting machine which was a very good thing. Later when I broke some bones in that hand knitting is the exercise that returned flexibility to my hand. I cannot make a fist tight enough to be able to securely hold coins. However, when I knit a little bit everyday that ability improves. I would recommend the surgery and get on with your life. I have stopped hand quilting for the most part but that is because of arthiritus in finger jointsk and not carpel tunnel symptoms. I am working on the development of FMQ skills. I have also had trigger finger surgery in the thumb on that hand. Life's short. I recommend getting back in business ASAP.
