What a lovely display! What a lovely blessing on the quilts having them just sit for a while in your very cosy sanctuary. Blessings on makers and receipiants.

          Wonderful looking bags, Renata.

All those quilts in the church are pretty. They really are a great place to display quilts.

Thank you all for the lovely comments on the bags.

Beverly, the piece over the strap is an applique' tacked down with a satin stitch. I did use fusible fleece on the back of the applique' but could have just as easily used a piece of batting so that the outline of the strap would not be so visible/palpable through the applique'. I also tacked down the straps with a square and "X" in it made with triple stitch to keep the strap ends firmly in place.

Terry, I wish that had been my idea but it's not. I saw it on Sewing with Nancy (Zieman). Eileen Roche made a bag in the embroidery machine with those features as well as something at the bottom of the bag. I simply cut out a shape and put it on manually because I wanted to practice my satin stitch. Terry, seeing the photos with the charity quilts beautifully laid out in the pews was so heartwarming--what a labor of love. There will be so much happiness when those quilts are received!

I have another finish. Just put on the binding yesterday using Ricky's piping method. Probably should have saved my first attempt with that technique for a quilt that had a cotton binding, but it still worked out in the end:

It's beautiful Nancy. And the piping looks perfect to me, well done. I have been too scared to try that method but you give me hope.

Wow, took me a while to caught up with this thread. Should've take notes, hope I don't miss anybody's beautiful pieces.

Teresa, congratulations on your ribbon. Definitely well deserved. It's a gorgeous quilt.

Margo, what a gorgeous quilt you made for your son. Pattern, colors, quilting, all of it just perfect.

Marilyn, love your quilts, both of them are gorgeous. I saved all the clues for Easy Street. It's on my to do list.

Norma, love your quilt! It's perfectly pieced and those yummy hand dyes are fantastic.

Wendy, what a cute mug rug. I definitely want to be on your list if you do a second swap, pleaaaaaase.

Beverly, your quilt is adorable. Your choice of fabrics is just perfect. And hand appliqué, wow! Have a couple of BoM to work on hand appliqué, some day.

Renata, those bags are gorgeous. You have a wonderful sense of color and design. Awesome!

Terry, what a labour of love. And how a beautiful display of quilts, they look beautiful on the benches. I'm sure many kids will be comforted with the love they were made of.

Nancy, another beautiful quilt. Red is one of my favorite colors and I'm a dragon on the Chinese zodiac. What's the meaning of the word/symbol in the center?

Nancy, your friendship quilt is so beautiful--love the colors and the piping, just everything about it is so perfect and just right!

The character Nancy used in her quilt means friend. In Chinese, friend is pengyou and the you (pronounced "yo" is the character you see on Nancy's quilt. Both peng and you mean friend. In Japanese, the word is tomodachi and the tomo part of the word is the same character as the you in the Chinese word pengyou.

Unfortunately not, Rosemary. We have another 4 days in Notts. before the Easter holidays start. But then we go back to school later so it doesn't really matter.
