Road to California give me info please!

    Hi
I am going in January. Any information is welcome.
How much time do I need to see the quilts and vendors? Is it something you can do in a day or two? Is there more than enough to keep me occupied just at the show? I am planning to be there wed thru sunday.
Is there other sight seeing nearby that I don't need a car to go to?

Hi Laura, I've gone to Road to California a few times.

One year I was there for 3 days, including a morning class. For me, that was a little too much time! i walked around the quilts and vendors many times. But, a day wasn't really long enough either.

There is a huge number of vendors in the main room where the quilt exhibit is, and there is another large room next to it. Lots of sewing machine and quilting machine vendors, it was fun to try out all the machines when I was there for 3 days.

Sometimes people have a meet and greet at the Superior Threads booth, watch for that subject to pop up of the forum. TQS or The Quilt Life mag often have a booth, also.

    It's a nice show!

      Hi Laura,

I've been several times to the RD2CA show its a great show! I live 90 minutes away so have only gone for the day. I've not taken any classes, but would love to some time.

I often go to R2CA. I enjoy the show because it is not overwhelming. If you are going on Wednesday, you will need something to do because the show is not open on Wednesday. ( I learned by experience!) I have flown and driven. There is not a lot in the area if you do not have a car. There are several restaurants and hotels. I think two days is perfect if you are not taking a class.

I am glad to help. I forgot to say there is a great Italian restaruant, I think it is called Rosa's and it is walking distance. Enjoy.
