Kathy, I have a Janome but I don't have a bendable bright light. What light do you have?

I think it's just called the "bendable bright light". They were all the rage a couple of years ago, they attach to the side of your machine and give you a small light on the end of a flexible wand that you can point wherever you want. It's pretty helpful most of the time. Sometimes I get too much glare with it.

Kathy, I have two 8 foot florescent light fixtures above my longarm and Bernina area in the basement. They give me plenty of light. On the other end of the room I have just a regular light fixture that I want DH to replace with another florescent fixture. That would be over my cutting and ironing area. I like lots of light. I also have an Ott light on wheels that I can move around as needed, and 2 east facing windows.

Cathy, I have overhead lighting plus an Ott lite near my machine. As I get older, I find I need more and more light :cry:
The Ott lite on its side really lit up that small area near the presser foot nicely.

With my HQ sit down machine, they have lighting on the machine plus I need a couple more lights in addition to the room lighting. I would like to have better overall lighting, those 8 foot fixtures sound wonderful!

Dawn, I have the Janome Horizon and the lights in the harp are great, but the pressor foot still casts a shadow on the fabric. Lambina, I will try the Ikea lamp.
