Enjoy your kitty! I'm so happy to hear you have opened your door to give him a good home. I have 2 wonderful little furry critters who love to quilt. They are into everything from the time I choose my fabric till the quilt is loaded on my Gammill. My one little rescue thinks my quilt frame is actually her hammock. Like I said enjoy your new friend, may the two of you make many wonderful quilts together! Tammye

och, i dont know how you add a picture to the message, but i have a lot of pictures that my cats ask attention some times only when i start quilting, cutting fabrics and near the sawing machine.i give them some attention and then i put them down and start to do what ever i need to do, most of the time they try their luck again. i always think, it is better to respond to them and preshus* the moment with them then to be annoyed by it. enjoy the endless love that you have around you girl!

Becky, to post a photo here once you have clicked the 'Post' button, if you scroll down the page you will see 'upload attachment'; click on this and it will give you an option to 'choose file'; click on that and it will give you a drop down box from your desktop; choose a photo from wherever you want on your computer and then click 'add the file'; when that has uploaded it will give you an option to 'place in line' and if you click on that then you will get a list with the photo details. When you finally 'submit' your comnent the photo will appear. If you want to check that it is the right photo and in the right place click 'preview' first. Hope that helps.

I have enjoyed your comments and appreciated the advice. We have survived week 1, and we are both settling down. I have kept my sewing room door closed so far. A friend of mine just spent a couple of thousand dollars on surgery for her cat. He swallowed a thread that twisted around the base of his tongue and again around a hairball in his intestine. After that report, I tried to "cat proof" the sewing room as best I could--all pins, needles and threads in closed bins or jars.

I will test out my technology skills and see if I can upload a picture. His rescuer took a picture that looks like a kitty glamour shot!

They are definately quilting cats 8) .

Susan you're right about the threads it's a real danger. My cats are mad on string and wool, I've had to gently pull some out before now. Has your kitty got a name?

This first picture it looks as if the cats are copying the piecing design... 8) Although, of course, they are going in the opposite direction

Becky, Guinness isn't actually mine. She belongs to my son and daughter-in-law. They asked me to give her a home for 'a couple of months' whilst they sort out their move from London to somewhere up North. Things are progressing, but slowly (long story). Now it looks like Guinness will still be with me till sometime next year. She made herself comfortable on my quilts in March 2011. She is the first ever pet that I have looked after (my two sons don't count).

Lorchen - I get the feeling that you might be turning into a cat person. Perhaps, once Guiness moves on, you might be adopting a little furry friend of your own....
