    How Many Forwards?

For the last week, I've had a LOT of people forward me the quilt designs in the snow. They are pretty, I agree. But I've seen them once. Good enough for me. It is nearly every day another friend sends it to me. *sigh* Are you getting inundated or does it just bug me?

This is even more forwards than the Blind Quilter story.....

-do you have too many friends? I don't get them from anywhere else but TQS, so that might mean I'm in lack of friends . Oh no, my friends just don't love quilting like I do. Next question: do you have too many quilting friends? My answer to that: should that be possible? What's yours?

You friends make me smile!! It isn't that I have a LOT of friends, I guess they many like posting on FB or sending forwards.

I'll try to paste it here for your enjoyment!!

(that didn't work so I'll post 4 of them to go with the story...)

Man Walks All Day to Create Spectacular Snow Patterns

Artist Simon Beck must really love the cold weather! Along the frozen lakes of Savoie, France, he spends days plodding through the snow in raquettes (snowshoes), creating these sensational patterns of snow art. Working for 5-9 hours a day, each final piece is typically the size of three soccer fields! The geometric forms range in mathematical patterns and shapes that create stunning, sometimes 3D, designs when viewed from higher levels.

How long these magnificent geometric forms survive is completely dependent on the weather. Beck designs and redesigns the patterns as new snow falls, sometimes unable to finish a piece due to significant overnight accumulations. Interestingly enough, he said, 'The main reason for making them was because I can no longer run properly due to problems with my feet, so plodding about on level snow is the least painful way of getting exercise. Gradually, the reason has become photographing them, and I am considering buying a better camera.” Spectacular art for the sake of exercise!

These were new to me. I have only seen some where a lady made circles, that looked like quilting patterns. These are gorgeous.

Thanks for posting these photos and story! I had never seen them either. Definitely not enough friends who quilt. In fact, none, now that Mom is too ill to quilt! Granted, I started back into quilting, etc, because we moved to a new state and I was bored! So I didn't have sewing friends when we lived in Sunnyvale, CA. Our neighbors here are great, but without a job outside-the-home, I don't get to know as many new people. Looking for a guild that doesn't meet too far away, hehe.

This thread just cracks me up that none of you have seen this. I even had non-quilters sending it to me. Maybe I should give them your emails.

I think that I have seen both of the mentioned e-mails but it was on FB not on TQS. And I did receive them several times on FB.
