    LOOKING FOR PATTERN

HAVE SEEN A VERY LARGE ROOSTER (APPROX 3X3) OF A ROOSTER. QUILTE NAME "TUCKER". ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND IT?

Scroll down for 'Tucker'. But be warned, there is a whole flock of attractive roosters.

Lotti, I have been tempted by these for years. My younger son was born in the Chinese year of the rooster. I just haven't got the time. My 'quilting output' will explode after I retire at the end of July in 2014.

in my case, what will most likely happen is that in a weak moment i get all the patterns...
put them away - safe - where i can pull them out at a moments notice...
one day - maybe 12 years from now or so i decide i absolutely need to make these roosters right now - need them next week - on penalty of death...
only to find that i CAN'T FIND THE PATTERNS ANYWHERE - and that i have the fabric in triplicate!!!
and i know - i really really know - that i'm absolutely, completely and irrevocably NOT A PATTERN PERSON - heck - i coundn't even follow the recipe to boil an egg! - not because i can't cook - but because i would think of half a dozen other things i could do with the egg along the way

            Lotti -

It's amazing how closely your methods match mine!!

And, like Lorchen, I'm preparing for retirement in that I want to make sure that I have more than enough quilting projects to keep me busy every second for the rest of my life. However, my retirement won't be for at least 15 years now, and I already have more than I could possibly do, even if I live to be 150!

Yup, Lottie - I'm inthe same club as you. I have tried patterns, but always change something; and my favourite quilt has no official pattern, I just 'made it up in my head', one square, one piece, at a time. I have been trying to make a quilt for one of my my 4 year-old grandsons since before he was born. I began one, didn't like it - too plain, tried another - WAY to fussy, so actually tonight I'm going to try something else. I hope it gets one before he's a teenager.

I got myself all set up for retirement in patterns and such but that was pre TQS web site, the trouble is now that i watch the shows and keeping seeing ones I would like to make, so i still have not made any of the patterns I bought then....................

I have made Reginald one of the Radical Roosters and have 2 more Rob Roy and Raj still in the chicken coop (studio) waiting to be done, they are great fun to make and if your free motion sewing is not too good (like mine ) it doesn't seem to matter.
I've just been on the Florine Johnson web site and there is a new one called Hilda, I think I will have to send for it.
                    Happy sewing
