    Party Stripes Quilt Pattern

This pattern was in Quilts and More (or is it Quilts'n'More) magazine of Spring 2007. It's by Kristine Kerrigan but I have been in touch with her and she can't unlock it from her computer now that the copyright that Better Homes and Garden held on it has expired. So I had given up but then saw another TQS searching for a pattern. I have also looked on the web at a site where a lady sells old magazines and books, she has a huge stash but not this one! It's too recent for her library. Perhaps I should just drop it or wait for Kristine to get it on her website but that was going to take at least a month maybe two if ever. Thanks for any suggestions!

Yes please that would be absolutely marvellous, I'll be staying with a friend in Houston (did I say I live in Venezuela) the only problem is I am racking my brains to think what a pm is?! Post something - pc is postcard in the UK but I don't know what a pm is - and when you tell me I expect it will be obvious - like FYI etc. the text generation! How exciting that you have a copy, I am really looking forward to seeing this pattern, thank you so much Laura.

It's really a simple pattern of stripes across rather than down, they look about 2" - 3" wide to me and it's very gay (please refer to original meaning of this word!), I am hoping to do it with neutrals and browns and some colour. I am just past beginner so this looks good to me. You can see it on the weekly newsletter of October 5th of the Allpeoplequilt website, under the section of Perfect 1/4" seams - you see - I'm still struggling to get consistent perfect 1/4" seams and this is recommended for practice. Probably end up making me :x and want to throw my sewing machine at something.

Ha Ha . I found it. Thanks. I guess you will get your 1/4" seams perfect making this quilt. I presume you have a 1/4" foot - have you tried sticking a bundle of post-it notes on the sewing machine bed 1/4" away (and down a bit) from the needle to help you guide the fabric through?

Perhaps you will post a photo on the Gallery when you get it finished.

                  Enjoy

I used to do that on my very old clankety clank Kenmore and then at the Houston quilt show in 2007 I spent a bucket of money on a new Pfaff Quilt Expression and got a business associate of my husband to lug it down here. And I've had trouble ever since! Maybe I will go back to that! My 1/4" foot has half broken so I am going to get a new one this visit. Post-it notes are prohibitively expensive here so what we use is masking tape built up one layer on top of another and I got pretty good results making stars with that.

Just realized that I have another pattern almost identical to the one in the magazine that I bought. Anyhow, package coming your way Margarita!

Disappointing about your machine, but sounds like you are managing just fine.
