I am going on a trip to Texas in a couple of weeks and when surfing the net for quilt shops near my cousin's home I came across 2 shops that had BOM photos on their website ,both these quilts were designed and made by Michelle Hill from Adelaide, Australia but she was not acknowledged as the designer.
Is this common in the USA or just because the quilt was made in another country? One of the shops had even used Michelle's own photo on it's web site complete with winning ribbon from a quilt show . -
If they were claiming that the design was their own, that is not only extremely rude, but is illegal, and they could face a lawsuit if they were copyrighted designs.

I'm assuming that anyone that signs up for the BOM from these shops will receive a pattern that has the designer's name on it--if not, like Margo said, they could be in trouble. It's not acceptable here in the USA.Comment
