Jodie Barrows Video Blog shows her unique cutting and sewing method using SQUARE IN A SQUARE... looked interesting but I keep waiting for her to cut into her fingers.

I think she would be intesting to see on TQS... hers is more of a technique but she shows how to make dozen of different blocks making multiple cuts in the basic block..

Have any of you tried her methods? I think I would be concerned about bias edges/ legs on her blocks. What do you think??

I have 2 of Jodie's books and we did one of the patterns at a LQS sponsored quilt retreat many years ago. I've used the ruler only a few times since. The LQS owner quit using her ruler & books. Not sure what all went on to lead up to that decision.

I took a class from Jodie Barrows a couple of years ago. She's a great teacher and the class was well worth it. It's always fun to try something new. I have to admit that I haven't used her methods or ruler since, though. You would have to figure out how to use the ruler with patterns other than her books.

When I saw the rulers demonstrated, I asked about the bias edges and was told there was not a problem. She really didn't handle the blocks a great deal. Maybe that was what saved things.
