When purchasing yardage, in this case Dupioni Silk, is it better to have the sales person cut or tear the fabric?[/b] -
Cut. I can't imagine tearing silk. -
No question about it: cut!

The cross grain on Silk Dup. will shred like crazy. Cut, then serge when you get home to reduce additional shredding.Comment

If you can, have it cut using very sharp pinking sheer or a rotary cutter with a pinking edge.Comment
