I know what you all mean about the panels. They are usually so crooked!

I have recently had good luck with using the squares that were intended to be made into books. For some reason, they weren't as crooked and I used them as blocks with fabrics in between. If you really want a quick cheater project, this might be a less frustrating way to go.

The motifs ran off the fabric ... YOU HAD ONE HALF GIRLS ON THE EDGES ON BOTH SIDES... over 6 to 8 inches of the fabric wasted. They could of had the background poke-a-dots at the edges of the fabric so it would be useable somewhere if not this quilt then in another. OR have the print more centered so you did not get chopped motifs.
You are so very right! The circa 1994 dollhouse novelty print used in this quilt backing shown here community/ had 2 1/2 of the dollhouses printed widthwise. What can one do with the rooms cut in half :?: In this case, 11" had to be cut off and will be wasted from the width, unless I can find a good use for it. :? It now resides in my scrap bag. Fabric designers, are you listening?

It is very frustrating. What I do with those leftovers is cut them up into useable block sizes and put them in my quilts for World missions.
