I have about 75lbs to lose to feel healthy! But like many of you...will stick to 10% for now. I was good last night...didn't nibble but was hungry! Yes, Margo, I got rid of all the chips!!! Hooray! While I was gone I wore my pedometer and averaged over 10,000 steps per day but didn't lose any weight. My biggest obstacle is myself...I tend to indulge in negative thinking when it comes to me, my weight and body image. Hopefully, with my fiends here, I can work on this and turn it around. Now...off to start my day...with pedometer, water and a good attitude!
Karen you have a great attitude going there.....keep it up and you will get where you are headed....I personally can't imagine you need to loose 75 lbs though....are you trying to get skinny? I am looking around the house trying to find the pedometer we have...someplace. I will be interested to see how much walking 10,000 steps actually takes. Lets both try to put a better self image as one of our goals...I think that will help...holding hands with you all the way my friend.

I think that we all have to remember that we are just beginning a weight loss journey. That we didn't gain it all in a week, and it's going to take more than a week to see results. I think that attitude is the most important change that any of us can make and that we all need to go into this knowing that we are worth the effort. What feels like sacrifice in the beginning will have big pay-offs in the long-term.

One day at a time my friends! Think about everything that you are considering eating. Will it help or will it hurt?

Thank you for the tip, Margo. I really need this for encouragement.
My Wii Fit Plus keeps reallllly good track of my weight
I will stay with it this time.
Each day is a "New Day" not just for quilting.
I really must get off this computer and back to my Wii!!
          See you tomorrow

Wooooooooo! Didn't know Wii Fitness did weight too. NOw THAT's multi-tasking!

And now I have to admit: I couldn't figure out why Margo started this under 'Quilting Frame" and really thought it was a boo-boo! Now I get it,

Yeah, we are all just sitting around this frame, (picture THAT!) and talking about what life is all about. All on the SAME web site. Which is great as it takes less time!

            Yep. Works for me.

All I can say is that with all 40 plus of us around the same frame, it has to be one behemouth of a quilt!!

Life around the quilt frame is so special!! I'm glad you are all here. I quilt everyweek with a group of 70+ quilters. I'm the babe at 63. They have a wealth of wisdon and I do glean from them each week. This group will also inspires me...stay busy, stay fit and keep on quilting and crafting. Margo, I went to your web shot site and looked at your tutorial on the new BOM. Very nice... I didn't think about Ricky's stable stuff as looking like trapunto..great idea.

Ruth, it doesn't look like a real stuffed shape, but just adds a little fullness, and it stays soft!

I rejoined Weight Watches online yesterday--I'm a "fallen" lifetime member from many years ago. My motto: If you eat like you used to eat, you'll look like you used to look."

Now to read much of the new material on the WW site. I loved the old Core program so I have to get up to speed on Momentum.

I'm in! The one thing I do consistently every day is look up what's new on the forum. If I have time for that, I have time to write down what I eat. I believe reading about what every one else is doing will help me stay focused.

I think that a very inspirational TV show for us is BIGGEST LOSER, and the season premier is tonight!

Not many of us have time to take several months out of our real lives to devote to nothing but exercise and diet, but it certainly shows what can be done with lots of determination and the willingness to sacrifice for a long term goal.

                          I'll be watching!

PS...DH and I have walked 1-1/2 miles every day since Christmas! We are walking at the mall until the weather gets warm enough to get back on the Greenway, and I find that walking with a buddy is a huge help for me!

I love The Biggest Loser - wouldn't miss it. Now that we are trying to get healthier, this show should be some great motivation. It's amazing the size of some of those people and what they can do.

Have started keeping a food journal since 1/2/09 and I have been shocked and dismayed by the calorie counts on some of my everyday staples. THEY ARE NO LONGER MY STAPLES! It really is worthwhile to keep track.
