What quilt related GIFT did you get from the Holidays?

My DH hates to shop so he usually gives me $$$ or a gift certificate. He surprised me this year by going to the local quilt shop and picking up some quilt books for me after quizzing my favorite quilt teacher on what my interest were. He also arrange for some private machine quilting lessons as he knows I have been trying to teach myself machine quilting.....

Needless to say I am tickled pink that he is supporting me in my quilting endeavors. I found out he was impressed with the quilt I made his mother.

My DH gave me a cute little Bernina 210 for Christmas! It will be used to take to classes & retreats. I have a 435, but I needed a lighter more portable machine. I love my two Featherweights, but they are acting up a little bit and probably need to go to the hospital. Hope you've all had a very Merry Christmas! Judy in Torrance

Gift card to one of the LQSs! And a gift to myself, I rearranged my sewing room, cleaned out the closet, and am eliminating what I am not using! Fortunately, our guild holds an annual auction in February, where I can take most of this. And the flannels and baby prints will be going to our local Project Linus. The Feng Shui has definitely improved!

Our DD decided that I needed a break from quilting, so I got the new Harry Potter dvd and 4, count 'em, 4 books I've wanted for quite a while.

I watch TV when I'm in my sewing room. DH bought me a 19" HDTV. Since we had to get an HD converter box, he went one step farther and got the HD-DVR box. :!: I can record my favorite shows in there so I'm no longer limited to recording in the living room. I love it!

Congrats on your quilt gifts, whether they are gift cards, machines or "get a break" gifts like movies. I am thankful for family that supports me as I continue with this "magnificant obsession." I did get a 450E as a backup to my main machine but that is certainly not the norm. I appreciate just having the TIME for sewing as DH often settles for a dinner of cheese & crackers.

Having a reorganized studio also helps the creativity. Looks like 2010 is starting out terrifically!

              Happy New Year

Coincidentally, I got the Circle Embroidery tool for my 440! I watched the video with Libby and got very excited. I have done a little experimenting with it and is it ever cool! 8)
I also got a BOM at my LQS paid for by my DH. And a Ricky Tims book and a LQS gift card from Heather75 for my birthday.

I got a new flat screen tv and dvd player for my sewing room. I can now play my tqs shows and other quilting dvd's without squinting. I was watching on one of those portable dvd players with 8 inch screen. Whoo hoo!! I LOVE Santa!!! Sandi in FL

Gift certificate to my local QS & upgrade from Vista to Windows 7. This because my DH cannot navigate Vista. I would love a small flat screen for the Sewing room. I listen to podcasts when I sew.

3 flowergirl dresses to make for my son's wedding in South Africa in March that I must start today!

My quilting gift is a visit from my sister and 2 nieces for the week. They live in Florida, so we don't see them very often. I set up a little classroom, had two machines cleaned and serviced and ready to go, and I'm having the time of my life introducing them to quilting!! They are in love with it already! We're doing strip quilts, and I am impressed with their creativity. Teaching them has been a complete joy.

I have my daughter here for 10 days and she's over the moon with the gifts I have made her for her sewing hobbies. I'm also guiding her with her re learning of knitting and, like Kim, I also have the wonderful gift of TIME! Daughter's partner is extremely good with cars and so he and my OH disappear into the garage for hours fiddling with OH's toys. Also as they have been going to the motor store, they have been taking us to the craft one first and picking us up on the way back.

What more could one ask for!!??!!
